Sure sounds like you got an aftermarket remote start system. I looked at owners manual for 2016 ram and it has same instructions and key fob as 2015. Press the remote start twice on key fob and it works for 15 minutes.

Thanks for the reply. It looks like you hit the nail on the head. The dealer installed the aftermarket remote start despite me telling them no less than 4 times before I bought the truck that I wanted an OEM system. Why the hell would I want an aftermarket system in a brand new $50k truck? I am more than a little pissed.

 

hmmmm.. My remote start uses my stock FOB (two button). I am getting concerned that I didn't receive an OEM remote start system. The two button remote only has a 30m range and the OWM 3 button remote has a 300m range.

I hope you can get it fixed up right. I never knew there was an aftermarket system til I started looking after you stated you had different symptoms on how it worked. Again hope they can make it right for you. Probably cost a few bucks more for the OEM system.

With your current remote start, do have the option and if so does it work, to have the heated seats turn on when remote started?
The settings are changeable through the radio display.

 

My heated seats do come on with the remote start as well as the steering wheel when it is below 4c but I don't have the "seats on with remote start" option on the radio.

 

So the dealer keeps insisting that there is no difference in range between the standard FOB and the Remote Start FOB. My co-worker can start his HEMI Sport from our office but I have to go outside to start mine. I sent the dealer these captures from the DVD they gave me.

Does anyone have any more info?

 

My oem remote start has poor range compared to aftermarket systems that I'm acquainted with so I'm not sure if you'd be gaining anything

 

Just curious, what is the going rate to install a OEM remote start kit? I need one on my truck.

 

I disagree with those that state the signal strength of the remote start is weak. I can start my truck from a 100 yards away outside and inside through wood and concrete at my house. May try replacing your batteries and/or you have to much interference with other signals.
