New Code

Dealer just replace the dome light assembly and while in the service bay they looked for all codes. They came up with a new one P0579-00. This code tells them that I pushed on the accelerator and brake at the same time. This is something I do when backing my trailer up into a spot. The dealer did say that it was not a problem and will not effect the warranty, it is just a code that does show up and not to worry about this code.
Just thought I put this out here in case someone was interested. :)

Heard of that before. Not remotly warranty related. Probably only could do that if you drove with one foot for the gas and the other for the brake. Most of us would not do that because there's no thrid leg for the clutch.

I wonder if people riding the gas/brake pedal have hill assist turned on and that's what is causing the truck to behave differently than they expect while backing up?

I'm quite adept at manipulating 3 pedals with 2 feet, as I suspect anyone is who has spent any serious time with a manual transmission, but you're right, left foot is clutch only, right foot is gas/brake. I just wish the truck had a dead pedal or rest for my now useless left leg.

I hope nobody is using their left foot for the brake, that is just plain incredibly bad form and dangerous... like some of the folks you occasionally see on the highways riding the brakes everywhere and you can tell by the lovely smell of hot rotors, boiling fluid, and melting pads aside from the constantly on stop lights.

They have it there to tell the two footed drivers that there random no power complaints are caused by them. I ran into another manufacturer that had that same type of code!
